This ODJFS/OCCRRA approved online course is geared towards Ohio Childcare Providers, but is open to anyone that desires to learn more about child abuse recognition and prevention.  This course teaches about physical, emotional, sexual abuse and neglect.

This ODJFS/OCCRRA approved online course is geared towards Ohio Childcare Providers, but is open to anyone that desires to learn more about common communicable diseases.  This course teaches how germs are spread, how to break the chain of infection, proper diapering procedure, basic food safety and common bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.

Prerequisites: Must have completed the American Heart Association HeartCode ACLS online AND have your Certificate of Completion (Printed or on your mobile device) with you at skills session.      

Class Duration: Approximately 3.5 hours

Audience: Those who have their HeartCode ACLS Certificate of Completion after completing the online course.

Completion Card: ACLS Provider eCard is usually issued within 2 business days.  A letter of completion is given to each student after succcessfully completing the skills session.  The eCard is valid for 2 years.

NOTES: Part 1 of this course is taken purchased and taken ONLINE through eLearning.Heart.org.   The SkillsSession & Testing (Parts 2 & 3) will be completed at 1st Choice CPR unless other arrangements have been made.

Access to the ACLS Provider Manual eBook is included with Heartcode ACLS.  You will be able to access the Provider Manual from within the course. 

ONLY AHA issued certificates are acceptable

This is a RENEWAL course.  If you do not have a current ACLS certification or this is your first time taking ACLS, you need the BLENDED ACLS skills (Purchase the HeartCode ACLS at eLearning.Heart.org)

You must be proficient in BLS Skills AND complete the ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment at elearning.heart.org/courses

 Written Exam(s)  The ACLS written test is 50 questions.  IF renewing BLS, an additional 25-question test will be administered.  There are 2 attempts allowed to score 84% or better to pass the final assessments(s).  It is open-book.

Course Description:

ASHI's CPR and AED training course is designed specifically for laypeople, and is an excellent choice for CPR and defibrillator training (AED) in both community and workplace settings. This course will help prepare individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and choking incidents in adults, children and infants. This CPR and AED course conforms to the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.

Designed for:

Individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers, but who desire, or are required, to be certified in CPR and the use of an AED:

  • Emergency response teams in the workplace
  • Indepent Providers
  • Teachers, coaches
  • Parents
  • Babysitters, childcare providers


Certification:

This is a 2 Year certification.  Cards are issued at class unless the student's employer requests that they be sent to them if they are paying.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals (healthcare students, medical professionals, EMS, and other personnel working in healthcare occupations) the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, effective manner. 

Completion Card: This is a 2 year certification.

Written Exam: There are 2 attempts allowed to score 84% or better to pass the final assessment.  It is open-book. 

In the classroom, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing.  

 

 

Audience: Those who have completed the online portion of the ASHI 1st Aid course.

Prerequisites: Must have completed the American Safety Health Institute (ASHI) 1st Aid online.   Please bring in your certificate of completion with you to the skills testing.  If you are unable to print or bring up the certificate on your mobile device, call us for help. 

You DO NOT need to purchase the ASHI 1st Aid course!  Everything for the blended course & testing is included.

Optional BLS Renewal: You may renew your BLS Provider eCard when you take this class.  BLS recertification during PALS requires additional skills testing and taking the written exam.  This option saves money and about 3 hours compared to the regular BLS class.
